Infrastructure Documentation Services (IDS)

Pro4ia’s Infrastructure Documentation Services (IDS) program allows organizations of all sizes to keep their physical infrastructure documented and under control.

The IDS program was developed to address the most common physical infrastructure issues facing Information Technology and Facilities Managers today - outdated and disparate information. Numerous changes occur over the lifetime of an organization’s communications infrastructure. From the expansion of equipment rooms & data centers to the addition of new floors, the information transport systems supporting the ever-changing network landscape are taxed to meet the demands of new technologies.

Understanding how this infrastructure interconnects from the telecommunications entrance facilities through the backbone into the various equipment rooms and out to the end-users in the enterprise environment is critical.

Current and readily accessible information enables the IT and facilities personnel to plan effective Move, Add, and Change (MAC) activities. It also enhances the ability to pinpoint issues and act quickly in the event of network outages while also facilitating SLA compliance requirements. Publicly traded companies also gain from this exercise by being compliant with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.

Pro4ia’s IDS Program can assist your organization by providing a detailed Current State Assessment of your communications infrastructure. Following a detailed discovery & analysis of your environment by our senior technicians and BICSI® Certified Registered Communications Distribution Designers (RCDD), a comprehensive Current State Assessment will be provided. This Current State Assessment provides all the data points listed in the IDS Base Services package and forms the baseline of the Infrastructure Documentation for your organization.

Additional IDS Services can be individually chosen to compliment the IDS Base Services package. Each additional service builds on the Base Services package to provide a comprehensive representation of the Information Transport Systems in the enterprise environment.
